Marguerite in her own words
I grew up in a U.S. Air Force family and was fortunate to live in many places, including a 4-year stint in Japan. I have degrees and professional experience in education and communications, and I was privileged to serve as trustee for Laramie County School District 1 for eight years. I settled in Senate District 8 when I moved to Cheyenne 44 years ago. I have lived here, owned a business and raised a family here.
I have covered the Legislature as a reporter with an objective view and I then spent more than two decades as an advocate for health and good government issues. That experience of working with diverse viewpoints, finding common ground and reaching practical solutions will serve me well as a member of the Wyoming Senate. I will research, weigh evidence, take input from the people and other lawmakers and base decisions on the benefits to Wyoming today and for future generations.
I have spent 44 years understanding and practicing Wyoming values and they will guide my service to the families of SD8: Wyoming solutions for Wyoming problems, neighbors helping neighbors, trust in local control, ability to put differences aside to work on common concerns, and willingness to engage with everyone.
I understand how state government works, the processes and the people. I know the issues. I want to serve the families of Senate District 8 with integrity and hard work and fidelity to Wyoming values.
I look forward to visiting all the neighborhoods of Senate District, getting to know the people who live and work there and hearing about their issues.
